Former Southampton manager Claude Puel has been appointed as the new manager for Leicester City Football Club. He’s been appointed as a manager for a three year deal.
Puel became the third manager for Leicester City. He replaced the former manager Craig Shakespeare. Craig was the man behind the success of the Premier League title winner Claudio Ranieri earlier this year.
56 year old Puel led the Saints which reached the EFL Cup final. The Frenchman was sacked back in June.
However, Michael Appleton is still Licester’s assistant manager.
Puel was “a perfect fit” said club’s vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddanaprabha.
“Upon meeting Claude, his attention to detail, knowledge of our squad, understanding of our potential and his vision to help us realise it were extremely impressive,” he added.
“He quickly emerged as the outstanding candidate and I am delighted we will have the opportunity to reinforce our long-term vision, aided significantly by his expertise.”
